Fireplace Installationin Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
Gas fireplaces, inserts and stoves, and Dimplex electric fireplaces, from a TSSA-registered HVAC contractor.
About Fireplaces
A fireplace heats a room and anchors it. Maybe you have an old masonry wood-burner, a gas unit that has seen better days, or a room that has never had one.
Tombari HVAC sells, installs and services gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves and electric fireplaces, and we're an authorized Dimplex dealer.
Because we handle the gas fitting and the electrical in the same truck, you get one install date and one permit file.

What Kind of Fireplace Makes Sense for Your House?
Four types of fireplace, and where each one fits.
Built-in gas fireplace
New, or replacing an old masonry unit. Direct-vent models vent through a side wall or the roof. A fit for new builds, additions and major renovations.
Gas insert
Fits into the masonry fireplace you already have, so the opening gets a gas unit without rebuilding the room.
Gas stove
Freestanding and vented through a wall, with no surround. A fit for cabins, cottages and basement rec rooms.
Electric fireplace
No venting and no gas line; it runs on 120V or 240V. Supplemental heat and ambience, not primary heat. A fit for condos, apartments and rooms without gas.
Gas line extension
A gas line run to where the new fireplace, insert or stove will go.
Venting and permits
Direct-vent, B-vent or power-vent venting sized and routed to the manufacturer specs, with TSSA permits for gas and ESA permits for electrical.
How a Fireplace Install Works
What to expect from the first visit to the first fire.
- An in-home consultation: we measure the space and show you two or three options.
- Before the unit ships, we check framing dimensions, clearances to combustibles and hearth requirements.
- Permits: TSSA for gas, ESA for electrical, and a building permit for the surround where the municipality requires one.
- We install the unit and route the venting to the manufacturer specs.
